Love of Music concerts to feature French horn, cello, piano

The next "For the Love of Music" concerts at the Bisbee Woman's Club are scheduled for Saturday, April 28 at 8 pm and Sunday, April 29 at 3 pm. Rose French (horn), Zoran Stilin (cello) and Lynne Haeseler (piano) will perform trios by Beethoven and Brahms, as well as duos and a solo of French music. These three musicians performed last year at the Woman's Club to much acclaim. Zoran Stilin is not only a cellist, but also a maker of cellos and other string instruments. This unusual combination of instruments, horn, cello and piano requires transcriptions of the Trio in Bb Major, Opus 121 by Beethoven and the Brahms Trio Opus 40. Rose French and Zoran Stilin, married last month, are developing a repertoire of music for horn and cello so that they may perform together. Stilin transcribed the Brahms Trio for these instruments.

Busy Beyonce takes on tour, album, videos

She's currently on the first leg of her world tour, which kicks off on the heels of the re-release of her "B'Day" album in a deluxe format. The reissue features the addition of some new songs, including some Spanish versions.

On top of that, she put together a companion DVD called "B'Day Anthology Video Album," and she filmed eight music videos to go along with it in just two weeks.

Now she tells Access how she was able to accomplish such a feat.

"It was difficult, but it was a lot of determination. Not only from myself, but my whole team."

She explains that it all came down to being prepared. Everything from choreography, to fittings, to hair and makeup design were done ahead of time.

"I basically shot the videos with my personal videographer, and sent it to the director so they knew exactly the shots we wanted.

Griego: Pair pray as move draws near

The Christian wife and her husband do not initially agree on whether moving to Border Street is really what they have been called to do. They struggle with it in different ways. Hers is more a question of surrendering to God. He, too, grapples with the trust that faith requires, but his concerns are also more practical, the worries of a husband and father who wants to do right by his family. So, they pray.

They are renting out their own home in Littleton and must move out by April 30. They decide they will keep the Border Street duplex - which they purchased solely to remodel and resell - on the market, but look for an apartment elsewhere to rent. If, by the 30th, they have not found another place, they will move to Border Street.

She is reading more about real estate investment and positive thinking, underlining passages, scribbling notes in the margins, studying paragraphs the same way she does her Bible, which is bookmarked in many places with paper tabs.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (BP)--Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary trustees learned of an increase in full-time equivalent enrollment, passed a $6.3 million budget and elected four new professors during their March 19-20 spring meeting.

The seminary's full-time equivalent enrollment (FTEs) was up to 395 in the 2005-2006 academic year from around 250 in 2000-2001, Midwestern Seminary President R. Philip Roberts told trustees. Roberts also told trustees about the regular outreach involvement of students through the Midwestern evangelistic teams and the FUSION program and the standing room only attendance at the February Dead Sea Scrolls workshop with more than 380 registered. The follow-up workshop, "Jesus, Archaeology and the Dead Sea Scrolls," featuring Scroll scholar Craig A. Evans, will be held April 27-28.
